I came across this posting today and had to share it word for word with everyone in this news service. The pain of reading such a message is also in the amazement of how strong people are when faced with their own mortality. The story of the prodigal son is not lost in relation to this person’s message. In fact, it embraces the prodigal son story 100%.
Just for your information, the survival rate of Stage 4 kidney cancer is only 8%.
The Prodigal son is told in Luke 15:11-32 and it shows how a son repents for his misdeeds. In the painful Reddit post, we are faced with a son that understands his own life and life’s actions when faced with his imminent death.
Most people never repent until it is late in their lives, and many do not get the chance to repent due to accidents, war, and other sudden death incidents. Here we face young man, and his honesty and understanding is a message to everyone.
Greetings Redditors,
The title is pretty straightforward, I’m 23 and I’m dying. I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer of the kidney and it has spread to my adrenal gland. Right now surgery is no longer an option and all that’s left is to wait for deaths’ embrace. But that’s not the issue. I wasn’t a good son.
