This report is based on the study conducted on the on 1600 bodybuilders that were having the male breast surgery for reducing the size of their breast among all the patients 1073 were followed up after the five years of the surgery. The basic similarities of these patients were that all of them were having average age 18 to 51 and were free from any hormonal disease. All of them were competitive bodybuilders.
Experts claimed that as the bodybuilders have the different cause for the enlarged breasts, so there gynecomastia surgery conditions and techniques also differ than other patients. Generally, Hair Transplant Surgeons and gynecomastia Surgeons perform this treatment. Usually, the overweight or obese patients have enlarged breasts then during their surgery surgeons have to remove the excess fat or skin to reduce the size of breasts, but there is no such need in case of bodybuilders.
Apart from this, the risk of bleeding and scarring is higher in the bodybuilders due to the increased flow of blood in the bodybuilders. As due to use of steroids or the hormonal supplements the chest muscles of the bodybuilders get developed highly, so the chances of bleeding are also higher for them. Moreover, the bodybuilders are more conscious of their physique, and their expectations are also higher than other patients, so breast reduction surgery has been customized for them.
For the reduction of their breast one-inch incision has been made beneath the areola around the nipple and then the breast gland tissues are completely removed to reduce the size of breasts. In the following up session of 1073 gynecomastia bodybuilders experts claim that satisfaction level in terms of outcomes of the gynecomastia surgery was higher than others.
Studies claimed that majority of the patients were extremely satisfied with the results of gynecomastia surgery even after five years of the surgery as this surgery enables them to have better physique with safe and minimally invasive surgical procedure.
