In this article, I would like to introduce you to 10 different and proven home remedies for hyperpigmentation of the skin. Hyperpigmentation of the skin is often manifested by uneven skin tone and dark spots on the skin. Responsible for this is an excessive production of melanin of the body in the skin. Hyperpigmentation can occur on any part of the body, including the face, neck, neck, arms, hands, and legs.

The excessive production of melanin is mostly due to internal factors of the body. These include, for example, hormonal changes in the body, pregnancy or other health problems.

But external factors such as sun exposure, skin injuries, burns or emotional stress and contact with chemicals can trigger hyperpigmentation.

But different home remedies can help to reduce the effect and rebalance the skin. I have collected 10 of these home remedies together:

1. Raw potatoes

Raw potatoes help very well against dark skin spots and hyperpigmentation. Decisive here is an enzyme in the potato which has a skin-lightening effect. Peel a potato and cut into thick pieces. Put a few drops of water on the potato piece and then rub the skin with it. Then wash the area with water. The treatment can be repeated several times a day. Alternatively, you can also make a mask. You have to squeeze out potato to get to the juice. This is then mixed with the same amount of lemon juice (see tip 1). This mixture can then be allowed to act on the hyperpigmented area for 20 to 30 minutes before being washed off again. This mask can be used weekly.

2. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has really impressive abilities when it comes to lightening dark patches on the skin.

Mix the apple cider vinegar with the same amount of water. Lubricate the affected area with this mixture, leave for a few minutes and then wash off. This treatment can be done twice a day.

3. Aloe vera

Aloe Vera has long been known for its health benefits on the skin and body. And for the treatment of hyperpigmentation, it is ideally suited as a home remedy. The gel removes dead skin cells and promotes the regeneration of new skin cells. Before going to bed, fresh aloe vera gel should be applied to the hyperpigmentation of the skin and only washed off the next morning. That can be done every day. Aloe vera gel can also be mixed with honey to create a homogeneous paste. Let it rest for about 10 minutes and then apply to the pigment spots. After 20 minutes, wash off the dry mass with clear water. This treatment can be done weekly.

4. Vitamin E

Vitamin E is also often referred to as the vitamin of the skin and is often used to treat hyperpigmentation. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that neutralizes the harmful effects of UV radiation on the skin, repairs and protects the skin. Vitamin E is especially common in various oils such as olive oil or sunflower oil. Apply olive oil or a vitamin E oil several times daily to the affected area. Leave for at least 20 minutes.

5. Lemons

The lemon contains not only a lot of vitamin C but also citric acid, which is good for treating dark spots and pigmented spots. For this one mixes lemon juice with honey in the ratio 1: 1. This mask can then be applied to the dark spots of the skin. The skin is then covered with a warm towel for about 15 minutes and then washed off with warm water. This treatment can be repeated once or twice a week. If you have particularly sensitive skin, you can dilute the lemon juice with a little water.

6. Turmeric

Turmeric can lighten skin and thus help against hyperpigmentation. Turmeric also helps to rid the skin of infections. Mix a teaspoon of turmeric powder with lemon juice. Then massage this paste on the affected area and let it work for 20 minutes. Then wash with water. After that, the sun should be shunned for an hour. To enhance the effect, the treatment should be done before a shower.

These remedies for pigmentation and hyperpigmentation are well suited for support. Of course, one cannot expect any miracles here and should carry out the treatment regularly if one wants to expect results.
