Summer

So often we find ourselves returning to places that we have visited before as we have become comfortable and confident in the area to such a degree it feels like a second home. There comes a time when we need to venture to places that we have never thought to travel to, as this takes us out of our comfort zone and allows us the chance to build new memories and discover some of the most beautiful destinations in the world.

Take a look at our list of the places you should be visiting next:

Thanda Island, Tanzania

Thanda Island is one of those hidden gems that few know about, but if they did, they’d be booking the next flight out. It’s probably one of the most underrated islands off the coast of Africa, with neighboring islands such as Zanzibar and Mauritius attracting hordes of tourists, while luxury private island resort, Thanda remains highly exclusive. This is largely due to the size of the island – in fact, it’s so quaint that there’s only one main manor house with just a few rooms. It’s the ideal place for a group of friends to escape to, or if you want the true royal treatment, you can book out the entire house for you and your partner, giving you free reign of the entire island.

Prague, Czech Republic

Prague is a beautiful city with lots of history and the capital of the Czech Republic. Prague is filled with beautiful historic ‘old’ buildings, gothic churches, colorful baroque buildings and always an eye-catcher, the medieval Astronomical Clock, which gives great pleasure not only to the tourists but even locals too, as it shows off its hourly animated ‘show.’ Prague is also known for its beautiful statues of Catholic saints that line the Charles Bridge. A visit to the Prague Castle and Town Square is very popular but be prepared for crowds no matter what time of the year you visit. It can get really hot in the summer months, the best time to visit is spring or early autumn, as it’s less crowded. Take a trip on the river Vltava; this is a unique experience, seeing Prague from across the waters offers a very different view of the monuments and historical buildings. Prague is a beautiful city and will find its way into your heart.

Tulum, Mexico

Tulum is a beautiful fishing village on the Caribbean coastline of Mexico and with its stunning white beaches has made this village a popular destination. Tulum’s beautiful beaches invite all to jump in and enjoy the coolness of the beautiful water. The ancient Mayan Port City has well-preserved ruins, standing strong on a rocky cliff with the crystal-clear blue sea below. The best time to visit would be between October to December when the hurricane season is over, and it’s starting to get warmer. If you love diving and snorkeling the best month is April, this is one of the most exhilarating experiences at a location known as ‘Tulum Reef.’ Snorkeling the area is best with a guide, the area is rich in coral life and very impressive sea life.

Chile, Santiago

Santiago is the capital of Chile, and it’s one of the largest cities of Chile as well as one of the largest cities in the Americas. Santiago is a mature, vibrant, and sophisticated city, which is surrounded by hills and mountains. Chile has become rather popular amongst travelers. The best months to visit Chile are: March to beginning June, wineries celebrate the season with grape harvest festivals and the beginning of October to December if you enjoy the warm summer weather. During these months there is plenty of sunshine and much lighter on the pocket. Santiago has much to offer in the way of day trips to just beyond the city itself, so make the best of everything it has on offer. It is situated between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes with a very Mediterranean climate with very little rain between October and May. You can take the funicular from Bellavista, or you can drive to Cerro San Cristóbal to get a view of the beautiful Santiago below and the Andes Mountains in the background, it is a sight to behold.

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

The Raja Ampat Islands in Indonesia is a remote tropical island in the Western Papua Province. The island has sparkling oceans and white sandy beaches, mangroves and limestone cliffs that leave you spellbound. Raja Ampat has become a ‘bucket list’ dream for tourists wanting to get away from it all and for divers who are wanting an unforgettable diving experience, diving amongst some of the most beautiful fish such as jacks, reef fish, some huge manta rays, on occasion, and barracuda. The underwater beauty is exceptional in every meaning of the word, but so is the landscape above. Mother Nature herself designed and painted Raja Ampat with great beauty, spectacular views, taking pride in every detail. Smaller rock islets in Piaynemo and the bigger islets of Wayag Island has some of the most glorious scenery that will take your breath away.
